Campus Advisory Update

As of 2pm this afternoon, Acting Governor David M. Apatang issued a cancellation of tropical storm conditions for the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

As we still anticipate rainy and windy conditions, we ask that students and employee continue to take precautionary measures.

Campus Advisory

As of 5am this morning, Acting Governor David M. Apatang, in consultation with the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) and the National Weather Service (NWS Guam) Weather Forecast Office (WFO), has maintained Tropical Storm Condition III for the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

NMTech ask that all students and employees to take precautionary measures and prepare for strong winds, heavy rain, and flooding.

Construction Suicide Prevention Week 2024

Every year in September, the world raises awareness about suicide prevention during National Suicide Prevention Month. September 9-13 isĀ Construction Suicide Prevention Week and beginning in 2024, the construction industry will come together in a powerful moment of remembrance to honor those we’ve lost and to re-commit to preventing further loss of life.

A new video about construction suicide prevention from Assistant Secretary Doug Parker is now available on YouTube. Also, please be aware of the following related events:

  • Monday, September 9: Please pause and join in a moment of silence to honor all lives lost to suicide at 2:50 pm EST.
  • Tuesday, September 10: At 12 pm EST, OSHA’s New York Region is hosting a webinar ā€œSuicide Prevention and Awareness – Within the Construction Industry and Beyondā€. The webinar will include presentations from professionals in the fields of psychiatry, epidemiology, occupational safety, mental health, and physical wellness. Please registerĀ here.
  • Thursday, September 12:Ā At 11:30 am EST, the Associated General Contractors and representatives from large, medium, and small construction contractors will host a webinar, ā€œFrom Awareness to Action: Workplace Mental Wellness for Contractors of any size. ā€ Register using the form at the bottom of thisĀ webpage.

The CNMI Department of Labor has included Automotive Technology, Baking & Pastry, and Construction trades in their Pre-Apprenticeship program! Contact their office today to get started on your career in the trades. Classes begin in August.

CLOSED on Thursday, July 4th & Friday, July 5th

NMTech offices will beĀ CLOSEDĀ on Thursday, July 4th 2024 and Friday, July 5th 2024 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

There will be classes or Summer Tech sessions on these days.

Regular operations will resume on Monday, July 8th 2024. Classes and Summer Tech sessions will also resume.
